You can take a hydrofoil (speedboat) from the pier behind the Winter Palace directly to Peterhof.

Option 2: By metro and bus

Take bus No. 201 or 204

For the return trip: Take the bus from the opposite side of the street, using the same route (No. 201 or 204) or any bus heading back toward any metro station, then take the metro back to central St. Petersburg.
